Frag FTW Expansion Description:

FTW is an expansion for Frag, the first-person shooter board game. You get more maps, more weapons and gadgets and a few more rules.

I’m mostly going to talk about the new things that FTW introduces to Frag. If you are unfamiliar with the base game, you can read my Frag review here.

First there are two new maps with new terrain: lava and water. Water tiles slow you down and lava spaces burn you. One map also features door switches that open or close doors of the same color.

Barrels may be added to the map. Barrels may be shot and if hit they usually explode injuring all close to them. They may also turn into a weapon, gadget or go nuclear. You also get hearts to represent your health so you don’t need to keep writing and erasing on your board.

You get more gadget, gun and special cards. And rules for variant victory conditions, knockback and how to combine two maps are included.

Quick Review of Frag FTW Expansion:

Frag FTW is an expansion that adds new elements and gameplay to the base game, but doesn’t clutter things with a lot of new rules. The maps alone make it worth the price. The additional components and new rules just make it an even better value.

I really like the heart-shaped health counters and barrels. The health counters make it easier to keep track of you health while the barrels add more fun ways to eliminate your opponents.

The components for this game are high quality. The rules are easy to read and follow but are on the sheet that the maps are wrapped in. I wish they were in book form and that everything fit into the original box a bit better.

All in all I like what FTW adds to Frag. If you own Frag and want to add some fun new elements you should try out the FTW expansion.
