We randomly determined our starting worlds and I got New Sparta (+2 military). Two of my starting cards were Space Marines  (+2 military) and New Galactic Order (+2 military and worth 1 pt per military). Given this draw my strategy was set pretty much finalized…get as much military as possible and settle quickly so no one else could implement their plans. I tried to settle military worlds that were worth high victory points. I waited to lay the New Galactic Order so I didn’t totally telegraph my plans.

Kim was producing and consuming and did pretty well, but it wasn’t quite enough to catch me.

This second game I just tried to cobble together a strategy with unrelated cards. I was able to make a few small combos work (Galactic Renaissance and Artist Colony). But this time Jeff had really good cards for the military strategy and thought we tied, he won the tie-breaker (having more cards left).
