WayWord Rules Description:

WayWord is a word game that combines Scrabble and Boggle where you create a unique board. You move your pawn to spell words, score points and block opponents.

The game begins with 7 hexagon letter tiles each player’s pawn is placed on the center tile. This is the only time in the game that your pawn may enter the same tile as another player’s pawn. You also draw one letter tile.

Each turn you place one letter tile then move your pawn across letter tiles to spell a word. The word will start on the first tile you enter and you may use a tile twice to create a word with a double letter. After your turn you draw one tile.

Once complete you write down the word and score the points. Common letters are worth one point while less common letters are worth two points. Finally rare letters are worth three points. Once you spell a word it may not be used by another player.

There are also special tiles these might double your score for a word, allow you to jump tiles or add points to your word.

The game ends once all the letter tiles have been used. The number of tiles will depend on the number players but each player will get the same number of turns. If you score the most points you win.

A Quick Review of WayWord:
WayWord combines some fun games with some fun mechanics to make a unique word game. Pawn positioning is important and so is tile placement. You’ll need to be aware of placing tiles that might help your opponents more than you.

Maybe it was the people I was playing with, but WayWord took more than an hour. Even though you get your tile and can look at your options while your opponents play, you might be blocked or will want to look for a better word on your turn. This can make the game take longer than an hour.

WayWord is easy to teach and play. Many ages can enjoy this game and it is great for family game nights. If you enjoy word games then you should try out WayWord.
