Tash-Kalar EtherweaveStats:
No. of players: 2-4
Amount of time to play: 45-90 min (depending on the number of players)
Age requirements: 13+
Set-up time: 5 min

The Tash-Kalar Etherweave expansion adds one more faction to the board game. The Etherweave are time travelers and can affect the arena even before they are summoned.

Tash-Kalar Etherweave Rules Description:

Like the previous Tash-Kalar expansions, the Etherweave faction introduces a new mechanic, Warp.

You must own Tash-Kalar to play this expansion as this is not a stand-alone expansion. If you have never played Tash-Kalar, read my overview and review here. This post is going to focus on the Etherweave expansion.

The Etherweave faction’s Warp ability is an effect you can play from your hand. You do not need to create a pattern it just happens. Only one Warp ability may be used at a time. And the card that warps is placed face-up on top of your deck. It is still considered to be one of the three cards in your hand and counts as minus two VPs.

This expansion also includes a scoring track for Etherweave players to use in Deathmatch melee games.

A Quick Review of Tash-Kalar Etherweave:

The Etherweave are another fun faction for Tash- Kalar. This new faction has powerful Warp abilities that come at a cost.

The components for this expansion are very good. The art looks great and all the chits are thick and durable. The rules are easy to read and follow.

The Etherweave faction adds some interesting interactions. The Warp abilities tend to be good for you but might help your opponent too. You must do your best to make them better for you than them.

Warp abilities also reveal what pattern you are trying to complete. This can help your opponent interfere with your plans.

If you like Tash-Kalar and want to try a new faction, the Etherweave are a good way to add more strategies to the game.
