Rhino Hero Review

Rhino Hero is family game that plays like Jenga but with cards. You construct a building and the cards you place as roofs will affect the next player (kinda like Uno).

Rhino Hero Rules Description:

In Rhino Hero you start with five roof cards. You must build rooms and put roofs on them. If you are the first player to get rid of all of your roof cards you win.

rhino-hero-cardThe roof cards have an icon on them that relates to five different actions and the outlines of where the next player must place their wall cards. The actions include reversing player order, losing a turn, drawing an additional roof card or placing the rhino on that roof card. One roof card has a 2X on it. This one lets you add another of your roof cards on top of it.

The first player to run out of roof cards wins the game. Or the first person to knock down the tower loses.

Quick Review of Rhino Hero:

Rhino Hero by HABA is a fun game that kids and grownups can both enjoy. It has a great theme and is quick and easy to play.

The cards are of good quality. I was worried the wall cards might not be very durable when reading about the game. But they should hold up just fine. The Super Rhino meeple is cute and the art helps convey the fun theme.

This game is a mix of Jenga and Uno. It is a simple and fun filler. You can play this with most anyone and all can enjoy it. It is not super strategic, but what roofs you place and when you use your 2X card can make a difference. That said my kids loved playing this.

There is a harder mode with a less stable foundation. Or you can just play to see how high a skyscraper you can build.

If you have kids, pick this up. Enjoy dexterity games? Pick this up. Looking for a fun filler to start or end your game nights? (you guessed it) Pick this up.
