Ranking Board Game Rules Description:

Ranking is a party game about comparisons and bluffing. If you can fake out your opponents you can win this game.

You begin Ranking with seven random tiles. Each tile has a picture of an item. Every round there is a different question. You must choose your tile that you think most matches the answer to the question. After all players have picked a tile you will need to add a couple random ones from the supply until there are seven total tiles.

Once shuffled you place all seven tiles next to the number three on the scoring track. Then you must compare two items on the same level based on a question. One that you feel answers the question better goes up one level and the other goes down one level. You should give a reason for why you think one is more valuable than the other.

You also start the game with a token of another player’s color. At any time you may place a token on a tile if you think you know who laid the tile.

Players continue to compare and move tiles until one tile is in the six spot and one is in the zero spot. Then the round is over and you score each tile.

A tile will score its owner points equal to the level it is on minus the number of their color tokens that are on it.

The game ends when a player has gone up the tower and back down it for at total of 12 points.

A Quick Ranking Board Game Review:

Ranking can be a very strategic bluffing game or a funny quirky game about why a sand timer is used by nature lovers more often than a gun. It will depend on your game group how this game plays.

I am not sure how much impact your reasons for ranking items matters. Strategically speaking the reasons don’t matter. So if one or two players are strictly playing strategically it might ruin the experience for all.

Ranking is a mixed bag and whether you like it will probably depend on your preferences. If enjoy party games with funny stories and reasoning and your group will play along you should enjoy Ranking too.
