Dominion: Seaside Session Report

Dominion SeasideWe recently played a random assortment from Dominion: Seaside. It was a decent mix, but let me state for the record I hate the Sea Hag.

The Supply consisted of:

Ambassador, Bazaar, Caravan, Embargo, Fishing Village, Pearl Diver, Salvager, Sea Hag, Treasure Map, Wharf

I figured buying some Treasure Maps early would help them turn into four Gold. That worked out near the end of the game. By then it was far too late. Jim was passing out a Curse a turn and my two Ambassadors weren’t enough to get rid of them. Meredith hit on her Treasure Maps early and had lots of cash, but Jim and the Sea Hag prevailed.

Scores:

Me – 9

Jim – 24

Meredith – 20

Jeff – 4

This time we embargoed the Sea Hag early so Jim only had one. I also got my Treasure Maps earlier and used both the Salvager and Ambassador to remove Curses. I must have learned from my mistakes of the first game.

Scores:

Me – 19

Jim – 15

Meredith – 9

Jeff – 3

I thought I’d talk about why the Sea Hag is so horrible. It just hurts the other players and clogs their hands. It really made the games less fun, even when I won the second game. It is an attack that doesn’t really help the user. It just hurts the other players. At least the witch gets you two cards or the Bureaucrat gets you Silver. I am not usually so against attack cards, but for some reason the Sea Hag annoyed me this session.
